About Worldflight:

The concept of a virtual, round the world flight for charity was started by a team in the United Kingdom and has spawned an annual event with participants all over the globe. This will be our fourth Worldflight event, and continues each year moving forward. In 2015 we raised $3,365.00. Over the past 3 Years World Flight Team USA has raised Over $10,000.00USD. This year we will try to reach a $5,000.00 Goal. Combined with the Australia teams we have raised over $250,000.00 for Charities.

With each passing year we have more Fixed Based Simulators joining in the round the world flight, each of them raising money for their own elected charity. Since WorldFlight started in 2000 we have had cockpit simulators from Ireland, Scotland, England, Germany, Austria, Canada and the USA accompany the Australian teams on the fundraising flights.

15 Pilots and crew will man our Boeing 737 owned by Sam Llorca of Sarasota, Florida. Each of our volunteer crew will have contributed a donation to our charity the "All Children's Hospital" kicking off the contributions. Interested people will be able to follow the progress via interactive flight tracking, video and audio on our website during the event.

Worldflight is conducted in an online environment on the VATSIM network and is joined by several other full cockpit sims based in Australia and overseas. Their details can be found in the links to the right. Virtual Air Traffic Services (ATC) is provided for the flights by VATSIM members around the world and also from the dedicated WorldFlight ATC centre located at Chipping Norton in Sydney Australia. The flight will take seven days to complete and is operated in real time as a regular airline would. One hour turnarounds are scheduled after each sector to allow for crew briefing and cockpit preparation for the next sector. During the seven days the flight will visit 45 airports and cover some 40,000nm.

If you have any further Questions or Comments, Please don't hesitate to ask.

Best regards,

Trevor Hale
